M.G. Siegler has been a general partner at GV since 2013, where he primarily focuses on early-stage investments. Before joining Google Ventures, M.G. was a founding partner of CrunchFund, an early-stage investment fund (now called Tuesday Capital).
He has been deeply involved in the technology ecosystem for the past 20 years, first as a web developer, then as a reporter, and now as an investor. Before becoming a VC, M.G. covered the tech and startup landscape for both VentureBeat and then TechCrunch, prior to its acquisition in 2010. He still writes regularly for 500ish, his Medium publication, 5ish, his newsletter, and his blog. From time to time, he’s also known to write some movie reviews in haiku format. Yes, it’s incredibly hard to follow all the places he publishes. He’s perpetually working on that.
Originally from Ohio, M.G. graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor before moving out west to work in Hollywood. One day, he will write that killer screenplay.
